You can enjoy the food hall (Hlemmu Matholl) where Christmas delights are served or purchase unique gifts such as local handicraft from the pop up markets. Don’t forget to visit the ‘Christmas at Arbaer Open Air Museum’, where you can experience how Icelander’s once celebrated Christmas.
2. New York, USA
A trip to New York is a great way to catch up on your shopping and to celebrate the Christmas holiday. Visit the Rockefeller Centre where you can take a selfie in front of the Christmas Tree or rent a pair of skates and glide across the ice under the stars and the archangels. Furthermore, to end the night purchase a ticket at Madison Square Garden to watch the iconic Rocketts perform at The Christmas Spectacular Show.
3. Vienna, Austria
Christmas in Vienna is nice and bright with the beautiful Christmas lights that illuminate the main shopping streets. The city is decorated in LED lights of various shapes and sizes. The best part is that you can take advantage of the view by visiting as early as November 24th.
4. Cologne, Germany
If you can’t make it to the North Pole than a visit to Cologne will suit you for the Christmas Season. Enjoy hot chocolate while you take a boat trip on the Rhine, sailing under the sparkling lights. To make the most of your trip, hope on one of Wolters Bimmelbahen mini trams to take in the sites and stop at the Christmas Markets.
5. Prague, Czech Republic.
This Christmas season make a trip to Prague where you can enjoy listening to Christmas Carols while viewing a nativity scene with a little baby Jesus and Virgin Mary. Additionally you will have the opportunity to pet goats and sheep. To fill your appetite enjoy large hams, sausages, and traditional foods such as ‘Trdelnik’ (hot sugar coated pastry)
