Perfect Start at Dakine ISA World Junior Surfing Championship 11th June 2013

COOLANGATTA/QLD (10th June, 2013): TravelSIM Team Australia has made a strong start at the Dakine ISA World Junior Surfing Championship in Nicaragua with eight heat victories on Day 1.

The event at the beachbreak of Playa Jiquiliste in Tola has attracted more than 300 of the world’s best Under 18 surfers from more than 30 countries.

In a 2-4ft (1-1.5m) swell, Soli Bailey (Suffolk Park, NSW – 10.70), Luke Hynd (Tallebudgera Valley, QLD - 9.17), Matt King (Ulladulla, NSW – 12.90) and Eli Steele (Moffatt Beach, QLD – 15.17) won their Round 1 qualifying heats in the Under 18 boys.

In the Under 16 boys, Kai Hing (Wurtulla, QLD – 11.25), Quinn Bruce (Coolangatta, QLD - 9.00), Chris Zaffis (Angourie, NSW – 9.50) and Jacob Wilcox (Margaret River, WA – 10.65) were all victorious.

At last year’s titles TravelSIM Team Australia finished second behind Hawaii.
