How to Top Up

This page contains information about how to add credit (also called recharge, top up, add air-time, etc) to your TravelSIM service.

  • TravelSIM is a prepaid service.  You will need to add credit to your account to make calls.
  • TravelSIM recommends registering for Handset Top when you active your TravelSIM.
  • Finding a computer with secure internet access to Top Up your TravelSIM service when you're in other countries can be difficult.
  • If you run out of credit totally, you will not be able to call TravelSIM support from your TravelSIM service.

Hint:  At any time you can use the SIM menu to check your balance – this is a free service.

 

Handset Top Up:  this is the best way to add credit

  • Handset Top Up allows you to add credit using the menu functions of your mobile phone.
  • Handset Top Up gives you the freedom of recharging wherever you are and whenever you need to.
  • In simple terms you authorise TravelSIM to debit your nominated credit card for the amount you choose when topping up, ($25 AUD, $50 AUD, $100 AUD or $200 AUD).
  • Added security - because you only enter your credit card information once on a secure TravelSIM web page, at the time of registering for Handset Top Up, you are not exposed to potential fraud at internet cafes, or the like, when travelling.
  • Your information is safe - TravelSIM does not store your credit card information. Your information is held in the highest level of security by our gateway partner; Securepay.  In fact even TravelSIM does not see your details as registration is completed over a secure transaction. Securepay is completely PCI compliant meaning that your vital credit card details are safe.
  • This is the preferred method of TravelSIM staff when they travel.

  • To register for Handset Top Up log in in to your TravelSIM account and select the SIM card to use with Handset Top Up.

 

Online Top Up

Log in to your TravelSIM account using your username and password and follow the steps to top up your account.

 

Over the Phone

  • You can contact our customer service centre to top up over the phone.
  • Call +61 2 8668 7500 from anywhere in the world (or 1300 851 676 from an Australian service) and select “Top up you TravelSIM” when prompted.
  • Charges will apply if calling from a TravelSIM.

Hint:  Have your TravelSIM number and your credit card handy when you call.

 

Auto Top Up – only recommended for frequent travellers

If you never want to worry about keeping your account topped up, the Auto Top Up option is for you.

  • Similar to Handset Top Up, except your account is topped up automatically when your balance falls below US$10.
  • Auto Top Up will add your preferred amount ($50 AUD, $100 AUD or $200 AUD) to your TravelSIM account whenever your balance falls below $10 USD at the completion of any call or SMS.
  • A word of warning - It is your sole responsibility to contact TravelSIM immediately should your TravelSIM SIM card be stolen or go missing, to cancel Auto Top Up. If someone was to steal your phone and start making phone calls, Auto Top Up would allow them to keep going.
  • Your information is safe - TravelSIM does not store your credit card information.
